Lately it gets popular to talk about sustainability and hopefully this trend will lead to something really good. Fortunately, more and more people are aware of the impact that our modern lifestyles have on the planet and are ready to participate in change in one way or another. We are also in with our core business – plant-based food production. This is actually our way of contributing to a more sustainable future.
Along with the production of eco-friendly products, we have set ourselves the goal of making tastier the daily routine of people who choose a plant-based diet. Standing up for our clean label and good taste, we are a perfect match for those who want to bring a variety to their menu and love wholesome food.
Production
As they say, sustainability is simply part of our DNA. This is because there is a direct connection between the foods we are producing and the sustainable development.
We are proud to say that we have zero production waste, meaning that the production is both environmentally friendly and it takes full advantage of what the nature is giving to us.
Consumption of D’free also saves on water because the production of food from plant sources itself requires significantly less water than the production of the same amount of food of animal origin.
The production of food that conserve natural resources is part of the solutions to the challenges that our world is facing today. This is also one of the United Nations’s Sustainable Development Goals and we are pleased that we can contribute directly to – Goal 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.
We are happy that it is in our nature to be part of the solution!
Packaging
Through our packaging, we are able to reduce the amount of waste and reuse paper. Our cardboard packaging consists mainly of recycled paper and the thin transparent foil we vacuum in is so thin due to its reduced plastic content. This is the best combination currently available to protect both our products and the environment. We are looking for and will continue to look for better and more environmentally friendly options.
We are collecting separately and taking care of the recycling of waste from the packaging of raw materials and other facilities. We encourage our employees, our friends and all fans of D’free to do the same, because we can only achieve results by being an example.
We still have a lot to learn and a lot to do in order to minimize our footprint and reduce our use of natural resources. We are open to innovation and believe that eco packaging will soon be the rule, not the exception.
